Control Risks takes pride in the quality of the training we deliver and we are convinced that we provide you with the best possible education to start your successful career in the security industry.
The high quality of our training is tested and approved by all relevant official institutions:
MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC)
This initiative helps to promote lifelong learning among members of the armed forces. The ELC scheme provides financial support in the form of a single up-front payment in each of a maximum of three separate financial years. If you are a service leaver or have left the services within the last ten years, you may be eligible to apply. Our courses have been approved by the Ministry of Defence for ELC funding. Please contact your re-settlement office or visit the ELCAS website for further information.
Control Risks is a Pearson-approved centre to deliver BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council). Although it is part of the UK educational system, this qualification is internationally recognised. The First Person on the Scene, Close Protection and SMCC courses are BTEC-accredited by the joint awarding organisation Edexcel/Pearson.
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP)
Leave the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force or the Royal Marines at any rank and you can benefit from resettlement support, career transition advice and training opportunities. CTP is the official provider of Armed Forces resettlement. CTP provides free assistance to eligible Service leavers of all ranks.
Skills for Security
Skills for Security works with employers to improve security skills and standards of professionalism by providing access to security training courses and security qualifications for people employed in private security roles across the UK. Our Close Protection courses have passed the stringent validation process of Skills for Security, illustrating the high level of professionalism of our instructors and the course content.
OSH Academy (Occupational Safety & Health Training)
OSHAcademy, a division of Geigle Safety Group, Inc., was originally established in 1999 by Steve Geigle, MA, CSHM, CET. Steve, a former Oregon OSHA Training Specialist, developed OSHAcademy's online training courses and programs to meet the growing demand for quality online occupational safety and health education and training nationally.
Over the years, OSHAcademy continued to grow and develop new courses and training programs. OSHAcademy currently offers more than 70 courses and 15 programs, with many more courses planned. OSHAcademy provides free access to our occupational safety and health training courses which are designed for employees, supervisors, managers, and employers. Unlike other online training providers that charge a fee to access their training material, OSHAcademy only charges a small fee to document a student's training. This is a significant difference between OSHAcademy and other online providers.
OSHAcademy also has a network of more than 50 Authorized Training Providers (ATP) providing classroom-based safety and health instruction around the world. OSHAcademy is a private training institution and is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
