Driving and being driven pose some of the greatest risks to personal safety for anyone working in hostile or high-risk areas as well as in developing countries. Control Risks’ driver training course teaches drivers the skills necessary to allow them to protect passengers and enable the driver to carry out recognised security procedures, identify hazards and take appropriate action in the event of a crisis. These courses are aimed specifically at commercial clients and can either be run at the Training School or at clients’ locations globally.
About the UK courses
The training courses typically run for two days, although this can be tailored depending on client requirements. Mixing theory with practical exercises, considerable time is dedicated to practical driving instruction. Course content includes, among other topics:
- System of car control
- Route planning and selection
- Hazard awareness
- Situational awareness and anti-surveillance drills
- Ramming and high speed braking
- Advanced and evasive driving skills and techniques
Courses at the Training School are run on public highways and use a local airfield for advanced technical manoeuvres, allowing delegates ample opportunity to practice their driving skills. Where required, we can also conduct training abroad.
