First Person on the Scene (Intermediate)

The Control Risks’ FPOS (Intermediate) course is endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is ideally suited to those who work in Hostile, High Risk or Hazardous Environments - the content of the course makes it ideal for Close Protection Operators, Remote Medics, Ships’ Anti-Piracy Operators and plant Emergency Response Teams (ERT).

The course syllabus is designed to take the First Aider on to the next skill level, students will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency.

The training includes both theoretical and practical sessions, designed to develop a good, all round understanding of Pre Hospital Emergency Care in challenging and austere environments.

The Control Risks’ FPOS Intermediate course is fully recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and supports license applications.

First aid for close protection officers

In order to obtain a licence, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) requires that all frontline close protection operators operational in the UK hold a valid first aid certificate accredited by either the IHCD or the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Our First Person on the Scene course covers all elements required by the HSE, and, in conjunction with our Close Protection course, qualifies attendees to apply for an SIA licence.
